MARCH 2019 – MODULAR STAND CASE STUDY

We were approached, via a design agency, to fabricate and install a modular stand for IHS Janes during a two year global exhibition itinerary.

Due to the variation in sizes of stands and overlapping schedules we came up with a series of ‘kits’ to deliver a very high quality end product. There were three kit sizes which ranged from 36sqm to 120sqm, with three sets of equipment in each size.
The kits were designed to be air-freight transportable, and in fact their first outing was IDEX in the UAE.

To achieve such a high finish quality we married traditional fabrication techniques with modular system.
Standard curved Bematrix frames were employed for the curved graphics panels, store room and tensioned graphic wall. However, we had to invent and fabricate our own sectional suspended ceiling to take SEG tensioned fabric graphics.

In order to be able to use fabric graphics ‘seamlessly’ from the back wall, up the curved section and onto the ceiling, we had to develop our own system to achieve such a tight radius without the fabric graphics distorting. To this day this method remains Top Secret!
